Cruise Line, Airline and Hotels: These three items vary and must remain highly flexible in order for our program to work. The cruise lines are all major lines. Our hotels are 3 to 4 star, demonstrating a high standard of quality.
Private facilities on cruise ship and hotels: All cabins on the cruise ship and all hotel rooms are equipped with showers and toilets. All cabins can accommodate hair dryers and electric razors (bring your own). Current is 110/220 AC and an electrical adapter is suggested for international passengers. There is a laundromat on board.
Bedding arrangement: On the cruise, all cabins have 2 lower beds that can be converted to a double bed. Cabins for more than 2 people usually have 2 lower and 2 upper beds. Hotel rooms usually have 2 double beds.
Dress code on cruise ship: Casual during the day, and semi- formal in the evenings. We suggest a cocktail dress or a dark suit for the Captain’s cocktail party and the Gala Farewell Dinner.
Departure Cities: You will be invoiced from our gateway city of London (Gatwick or Heathrow based on availability) but departures are possible at a supplement from Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Belfast and Dublin. For our European clients we can offer flights out of any major European city at a supplement. Upon receipt of your deposit we will request the city of your choice from the airline and we will inform you of the flight details and supplement. At that time you may decide if you wish to travel from London or the supplemental city.
Booking airline seats in advance: Once you receive your flight information from us you may call the airline office in your local city and request the seating of your choice. Be aware that airlines cannot assign all seats prior to departure and must leave some choice seats for check-in passengers. If you do not get your choice of seating over the telephone, accept whatever you can get and arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure and request a change. If you have a medical condition and must have a particular seat, please let the airline know beforehand and show a doctor’s certificate at the time of check-in. Also, it is a mandatory to call the airline 72 hours prior to departure and check if there has been any change of schedule. This procedure should be carried out both on your departure and on your return to ensure a worry free holiday as VPI will not be responsible for missed flights.
Luggage Allowance: For flights between U.K., Europe and the U.S., each person regardless of age is allowed 1 piece of checked luggage. In general, the maximum weight of each piece is 50lbs or 23 kgs. and the maximum size of each piece is 62 inches or 157 cms., taking into account the height, width and length of the bag. Each person (excluding infants) is allowed just one carry-on luggage, which must fit under a seat or an overhead bin. The maximum weight allowed is 40lbs or 18 kgs and the maximum dimensions are 45 inches or 145 cms. Most airlines are charging upwards of $50 for a 2nd bag or overweight bags. However, due to security reasons airlines may change luggage and carry-on allowances therefore please check your airline's website for current regulations. Special items such as surfboards, bicycles, scuba equipment, etc. are not included in the customer's free baggage allowance and are subject to an extra charge. Note that if you have bought separate airline tickets to use within the domestic US sectors there is a charge for each piece of checked luggage.
Currently most airlines are serving free meals on the international segment of your flight. However, if your ticket includes a flight segment within the US please note that most airlines are now charging for meals on board domestic US flights, so please make sure you check your airline's website for further information before leaving home. Note that airlines do not accept cash for any purchases on board so please have a credit card handy.
